Reabilitação de antigo armazém da fábrica de cimento Lafarge
Transformação de antigo armazém industrial da fábrica de cimento Lafarge, em Toledo, Espanha.
Refletindo a espaciosidade e luminosidade do "Armazém 5", o projeto tem como estratégia ampliar essa perspectiva existente, eliminando qualquer barreira visual que pudesse fragmentar esse belíssimo volume.
A laje do térreo foi removida e substituída por vias de distribuição e acesso aos níveis de uso: o subsolo e os dois volumes apendiculares da nave central, que alojam o programa.
O espaço principal resulta então totalmente desobstruído.
Old storehouse reformation from Lafarge's cement factory
This project is based on the transformation of an old industrial warehouse owned by the Lafarge cement company in Toledo, Spain. Inspired by the spatial qualities and luminosity of “Storage 5”, the project desired to enhance the spatial perception of an already impressive volume by eliminating any visual barriers.
In order for this space to become totally unobstructed the ground floor slab was removed and replaced by pathways responsible for connecting the underground level and the two main volumes to the main central area where most activities take place.
